The opportunity
Healthcare systems struggle with disconnected tools and separate platforms for scheduling, consultations, messaging and aftercare management.
Patients receive generic aftercare instructions without personalised guidance or easy access to support, leading to preventable complications and unnecessary emergency visits.
An opportunity emerged to create an integrated platform that unifies the entire healthcare experience while maintaining clinical standards and keeping a person-centred approach.
Challenge
Healthcare delivery requires more than consolidated tools. It demands intelligently connected experiences that adapt to each user’s role while maintaining quality care.
I designed a unified platform that serves healthcare providers and patients by streamlining complex workflows without compromising clinical excellence or accessibility.
Design in action
Drawing on exiting user insights I designed users journeys and collaborated with developers stakeholders to optimise. Key design:
- Dashboards: present key information in a clear, scannable view, highlighting urgent items while maintaining clinical oversight.
- Video consultations: combine real-time messaging and video feeds, enabling care teams to collaborate efficiently with clinical-grade controls and screen sharing.
- Administrator controls: allow flexible branding, themes and subject lists while ensuring visual consistency with NHS colour standards in light and dark modes.
- Personalised aftercare: turns standard protocols into guided recovery journeys with contextual tips, action tracking and direct access to GP contacts and NHS 111.
